The Matchup on the Bump

For the Yankees, they will be starting LHP Ryan Weathers (2-2, 3.58), who has had a really solid start to the season so far. He has not faced the Rays many times in his career, so there is not much data to go off of, but it seems in a small sample that the numbers against Tampa Bay are solid.

Opposite Weathers, the Rays will start RHP Drew Rasmussen (4-1, 3.19). Rasmussen has been no less than dominant every time he takes the mound against the Yankees. They never seem to have an answer for him, and with their offensive struggles as of late, I don’t forecast that fate changing today.

Stat to Watch: Trent Grisham has a .818 OPS against Rassmussen in his career.

• Aaron Judge is in the midst of his worst career offensive stretch., enduring a brutal 4-for-35 stretch over his last nine games. In those 40 plate appearances, his OPS is .348, with no RBI’s.

• Anthony Volpe is back on the bench with Jose Caballero, who made a game-breaking error on Friday, back in at shortstop.

Roster Moves & Medical Updates

• Giancarlo Stanton will go for more imaging on his calf this week. If it comes back clean, he will ramp up his running program and could miss a rehab assignment all together.

• Jasson Domínguez has advanced to tee-and-toss exercises, Aaron Boone said Friday. Dominguez could be on a Minor League rehab assignment by the first week of June
