Yankees Reactions: Fried leaves early and the Yankees offense no-shows in Series Loss to the O's
A bad day in Yankee Land.
BALTIMORE, MD — It was ugly. The Yankees lost 7-0 to the Orioles and lost the series to their AL East rivals on the road. It was a game where the Yankees recorded just one hit and lost their ace due to injury.
Max Fried was able to only go three innings before leaving the game due to injury. He surrendered three runs in his three innings of work and it was clear his command was off throughout his outing.
The lone hit from the Yankees was a one-out double by Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the fifth inning. That inning saw two runners on with two outs, but the Yankees were unable to score.
Anthony Volpe made his return to the lineup today. He went 0-3 at the plate and committed his first E6 of the season in the eighth inning on what should have been an easy play. Not the first impression you want to make in your return to the mound.
The Yankees will have their first off day in 13 games tomorrow before going to City Field to play the Mets on Friday and try to right the ship to what has been a 1-5 road trip.
