Yankees Preview: Will Warren gets the start in Cleveland as the Yankees start another road trip
Spencer Jones is back in the Yankees starting lineup, and Anthony Volpe is on the bench.
CLEVELAND—The Yankees needed a win Sunday before going on the road for six games and got it. Now, the Yankees will face the Guardians for the second time in a week after dropping a series against them last week in the Bronx.
First pitch Monday will be at 6:40pm on the YES Network, FS1, and the Gotham Sports App.
Here is how the Yankees will line up today:
Anthony Volpe rides the bench with the superior defender and player Jose Caballero at shortstop. Ben Rice is at first base with Goldschmidt DHing. Spencer Jones is back in right field.

Pitching Matchup
Yankees RHP Will Warren (7-1, 3.22)
Will Warren has made a ton of improvements in 2026 from where he was in 2025. He faced the Guardians last season and had some solid success against them and will look to continue that trend tonight in Cleveland. The Yankees also give Warren the most run support they give any starter on their staff, which, mentally, I think has helped Warren a bit this season.

Guardians RHP Gavin Williams (9-3, 3.20)
The Yanees were able to get to Gavin Williams a bit last week, as he went 5.1 giving up three runs. His career ERA against the Yankees is in the fours. Fortunately for Williams, his season splits show that his numbers are much better at home than on the road, and the Yankees offensively are much worse on the road than at home.
